KANNUR: A crack was found in the coach of Mangaluru Central Mail. The crack was discovered during an inspection at the Kannur railway station today morning.

The train left Chennai at eight o'clock last night and reached Kannur at nine o'clock in the morning. The crack was found in the sleeper coach of the train. About twenty passengers were in the bogie. The train service continued after the bogie was removed.

Meanwhile, there was a complaint that the woman was assaulted on the train. The complaint is that an old man assaulted a woman from Kollam on the train. A native of Tamil Nadu assaulted the woman who was going to Kollam from Viluppuram. The incident happened yesterday night.

The incident is said to have taken place before the train reached Virudhachalam station. The woman and the elder passenger had a verbal duel over using the phone charging spot. This altercation soon turned worse and it is alleged that the elder passenger grabbed the woman’s hands in an attempt to beat her up.

When the train reached Tiruchirappalli station, the old man deboarded the train. The woman who was shattered by the happening informed Tiruchirappalli Railway Police about the incident. She then filed a complaint and was advised by the police to avoid her night journey alone.

The woman says that there was no police security in the compartment nor did the TTE come for her help when the incident took place. As per reports, the women had registered a complaint with Tamil Nadu police on the issue.
